DC Budgam flags-off student traffic management drive

Srinagar:

BUDGAM, JULY 18: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, today flagged-off student traffic management drive organized by Girls Higher Secondary School Budgam.

As many as 30 girl students participated in the drive and actively took part in the traffic regulation at Old Bus Stand in Budgam.

Among others, Chief Education Officer Budgam Abdul RoufShahmiri, ARTO Budgam Mubashir Jan and senior faculty members of the Higher Secondary School were present on the occasion.

While appreciating the efforts and participation of students, the DC said that active involvement of students in such programmes shall encourage in creating civic sense and obedience of traffic rules among the people.

The DC said that such programmes must be conducted by other schools also in order to inculcate the sense of responsibility among the youngsters towards building a better society.

She urged drivers and commuters to sternly follow the traffic norms and help the traffic management agencies in ensuring smooth plying of traffic across the district.

On the occasion, students also distributed posters among drivers and passengers to spread awareness about traffic norms for smooth traffic management.
